Tom Zuppa
FOR WARD C COUNCIL
Thomas Zuppa is a lifelong Jersey City resident, the great-grandson of Italian immigrants, a dedicated attorney, community advocate, and leader with a deep commitment to public service. Rooted in his family’s legacy of hard work, service, and community, Zuppa has spent his career championing the causes that matter most to the people of his neighborhood.
Zuppa currently serves as the President of the Journal Square Community Association, where he has focused on making the area cleaner, greener, and safer for its residents. A staunch advocate for affordable housing, he works tirelessly to ensure that longtime residents of the rapidly developing Journal Square area are not displaced. Additionally, Zuppa leads the Tom Zuppa Civic Association, a non-profit organization providing essential resources to seniors, families, and children throughout Jersey City. Under his leadership, the organization delivers toys, backpacks, and school supplies to over 1,000 children annually, serves meals to more than 500 senior citizens, and sponsors various service projects, making a lasting impact across the community.
Zuppa is also a partner at Chasan Lamparello Mallon & Cappuzzo, P.C., a Secaucus-based law firm where he specializes in complex civil litigation, labor and employment issues, and civil rights cases. Beyond his legal practice, he donates significant time offering pro bono legal counsel to non-profit organizations, small business owners, and tenants in need. His legal expertise and unwavering dedication to justice have earned him a reputation as a tireless advocate for fairness and equity.
Zuppa’s dedication to public service extends to his candidacy for Jersey City Council, joining Bill O'Dea's "Our City, Our Choice." slate. As part of this team, Zuppa aims to bring his energy, expertise, and commitment to affordable housing, small business support, and public safety to the forefront of local government. "My great-grandparents came to Jersey City from Naples seeking a better life, and they instilled in me the values of hard work, service, and family," Zuppa says. "I want to continue that legacy by serving my community in a greater capacity.”
Thomas Zuppa lives in the Journal Square neighborhood with his wife, Andrea, and their puppy, Kennedy. Whether through his legal practice, community advocacy, or civic engagement, Zuppa remains dedicated to improving the lives of Jersey City residents and ensuring a brighter, more equitable future for all.
